Privacy Policy for Apparent Sudoku
Apparent Logic, LLC makes Apparent Sudoku for iPhone, iPad, Mac, and the web. We do not show ads, track you across apps or websites, or sell your personal information. This policy explains how we handle optional feedback, Apple services, and results you choose to share.
1. Optional Feedback
Opening the app's feedback form does not send anything. When you choose Send Feedback, the app sends:
- Your message;
- Your email address, if you provide one;
- The app version and build number, device platform, and operating system version.
We use this information to respond to you, investigate problems, and improve the app. We do not use feedback for advertising or tracking. Your optional email is also saved on your device to prefill the form next time.
2. Feedback Storage and Deletion
Feedback is sent to our support service, which saves submissions in a database and sends a notification to our Slack workspace. Our hosting providers and Slack process this information to operate those services.
Feedback records may remain in the support database until deleted. Slack notifications are retained according to our workspace's retention settings; a notification disappearing from Slack does not delete the database record. If we reply by email, that correspondence may also remain in our support records.
To request deletion, email privacy@apparentlogic.com. We monitor this address. Please include enough information to locate your submission, such as the email you supplied and the approximate date. We will delete the records we control, unless retention is required by law. Deletion from active records may not immediately remove backup copies, if any.
3. Apple Services and Puzzle Data
The app keeps your games and preferences on your devices and can sync game data through your private iCloud account. Game Center handles player identity, friends, scores, leaderboards, and challenges. Apple processes purchases and may provide diagnostics when you choose to share them with developers. These services are governed by Apple's privacy policy and your account settings. We do not receive your Apple Account password or payment-card details.
4. Shared Daily Results
When you share a Daily result, the link contains your time, mistakes, hints, solving style, box completion order, streak, rank, and a name: your Game Center nickname if signed in to Game Center in the app, or the optional name you enter on the website. If you beat a friend's challenge, the link can also contain that friend's nickname and time. Anyone with the link can see these details.
Our website reads the link to display the result and generate its preview image. Preview images may be cached on our server. Shared results are not saved in a results database. Standard server access logs may include your IP address and the requested URL, including shared-result details.
In the app, a friend's challenge is kept with that Daily on your devices and in your private iCloud data. The website keeps your game progress and optional name in your browser; the name is sent only in a link you choose to share. You can clear this local data through your browser settings.
5. Children
Children should not include personal information in feedback. A parent or guardian who believes a child sent personal information can contact privacy@apparentlogic.com to request deletion.
6. Contact and Changes
For privacy questions or deletion requests, contact privacy@apparentlogic.com. For app support, contact sudoku_support@apparentlogic.com.
We may update this policy as the app or our practices change. We will update the date above. This policy applies to Apparent Sudoku and its website at apparentlogic.com/sudoku.
